How do I transfer a domain name from one registrar to another?

I am selling a domain name, MillionaireMoneySecrets.com, on eBay.
This domain name is registered with Domain.com, but most people use GoDaddy.

What do I do if my buyer want the domain transferred to his/her GoDaddy account?

You need to create transfer secret ( after unlocking the domain ) from domain.com and then transfer your domain name on godaddy using it. If you are unable to do it then contact domain.com support to get transfer secret and contact godaddy support for transfer.

I hope it helps you.

Here is a tutorial to transfer domain to godaddy too:

Is it okay if I transfer my domain before 60 days?

I want my domain name transferred. I got it from Yahoo, but they say that you cannot transfer it before 60 days of the register date. If I attempt to transfer it and succeed, will the ICANN get at me? Will it fail to transfer it? Will I be fined? Bottom line will anything bad happen to me if I do transfer it?

You can transfer your domain name before 60 days and you will not be fined or punished in an way

How can I transfer a domain name to a new registrar?

I have requested my ISP to cancell my web hosting account before its expiration date(October this year)because I want to join a new web hosting company. The current ISP has already cancelled the web hosting account but has refused to give me the information on how to change DNS and how to transfer my domain name to a new domain registrar/web hosting company.

Contact the new ISP, and tell them you want the domain transferred. They will then contact your previous ISP, which in turn will contact you to authorize the transfer.

At least this is how it's supposed to work. Sometimes, though, the previous ISP is not to eager to help transferring the domain.

How do you transfer a domain name to a friend?

My friend has a Yahoo Domain, and so do I. How does she transfer the ownership of the domain to me?

Go to the provider from who you got the domain name and ask or check their help file.Give the domain to friend and let him/her use it as if they where you,but it would be better to transfer through provider you purchased it from.

How can I transfer a domain name that my friend bought into my name?

Me and a friend of mine used to co-own a website. I paid for all the hosting and such like which was registered in my name and he purchased the domain name, which was registered in his name. Now he wishes to leave the website and has agreed to transfer the domain name to me. Only thing is we don't know how to formally go about changing the ownership details of the domain name.

Can anyone help?

Ya sure.
In the web hosting website which u are using click on Transfer Domain .
Then they will ask the domain details and Domain Secret. Give those details and enter ur personal information.

I just purchased a domain name from someone on Godaddy. I want to transfer the name to me, but want a contract saying that I have the full rights to the name.

Two For One Geek Radio Podcasts

In the past few days, the Parking Ticket Geek ended up on three different radio shows to discuss parking related subjects. I’m still shocked that intelligent people in the media want to talk to a drooling parking obsessed ninny.  Oh well. But if you missed any or all, I’ve posted podcasts to two of the three, for your listening displeasure. Saturday afternoon, I got a chance to be on Dick Kay’s Back to the Beat program on WCPT 820 AM . It was quite enjoyable as I got a chance to discuss

Godaddy how does domain transfer work?

I have sold my website on ebay and I now want to transfer ownership to the new owner.

Could you please explain step-by-step what I need to do on godaddy?

This is what I did. But apparently I did something wrong.
I logged in into godaddy –> account –> Manage Domains –> Pending Account Changes. My domain is listed there. I entered an ID and a Code that my buyer had received, but I got an error message saying that:

No updates were made.

Gaining account can not be the same as the losing account.

What have I been doing wrong? It would be great if you could help. It's probably quite easy to do, but I am too stupid for domain transfer.

Call godaddy's phone support and they will walk you through what you need to do. They can see your account and will be able to tell you what is stopping the transfer from going through.

Good Luck!
