How do you transfer a domain name?
Hi, i am planning to sell my domain name on ebay, and was wondering how i go about transfering this to the winner its registered with godaddy. Also does this cost to transfer? How should i prove that it is mine as i am new to ebay so have low feedback so i think they might want proof.
Transfering a domain name is initiated by the party that is going to receive it, which then generates an email to the owner of the domain who has to approve the transfer.
Since you are probably transfering it to someone you don't know, and who doesn't know you, then the transaction should be handled in the same way you would sell your house or car… through an ESCROW agent.
There are companies which specialize in Domain Name Escrow Services, and you can find them easily by searching Yahoo! for "Domain Name Escrow Service"
